Lie back relax and watch the TV screen on the ceiling

Dental anxiety is a common condition that affects many people, causing fear and nervousness when it comes to thinking about a visit to the dentist.

The symptoms of dental anxiety can vary from person to person but may include fear or nervousness before or during dental check ups and symptoms such as sweating, shaking and feeling sick. In can result in people delaying or putting off dental appointments, requiring more complex dental work.

At Curran Dental, we strive to provide a comfortable and relaxing environment to help our patients overcome their fear of the dentist. We encourage anyone who is experiencing dental anxiety to please let our team know - whether that be over the phone when booking, at Reception when you visit or with your dentist.

During treatment you can always raise your hand. It’s perfectly normal, and we can discuss any concerns or just take a break!

Talking about your treatment so you know exactly what’s happening can help many patients. For other patients, forms of distraction can help, such as music.

At Curran Dental, we also offer sedation options including nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral sedation to help patients relax during dental procedures.

Our entire team from our friendly Reception staff, to our hygienists and dentists are committed to providing compassionate care.
