Urgent Dental Care
Toothaches, damaged teeth, trauma and other dental emergencies can happen unexpectedly. When an emergency occurs, it's important to seek immediate attention from your dentist to help alleviate pain and prevent further damage.
Curran Dental is well-equipped to deal with common dental emergencies such as toothaches, dental infections, bleeding, swelling, and damaged or knocked out teeth.
Knocked-out tooth:
If a tooth has been knocked out, it's important to act quickly to increase the chances of saving the tooth. Try to place it back in the socket if possible, and hold it in place with a clean cloth or gauze. Hold the tooth by the crown, avoid touching the root as this can easily be damaged. If the tooth cannot be reinserted, place it in a container of milk or saliva and bring it with you to the dentist immediately. The faster you can see us, the greater the chances of successfully reattaching the tooth.
Broken tooth:
A broken tooth can be caused by a variety of factors, such as a sports injury or biting down on a hard object. Rinse your mouth with warm water and apply a cold compress to the affected area to reduce swelling. With a front tooth, often the broken fragment can be bonded back into position, so if you can find the fragment that is a great help.
Toothache:
A toothache can be caused by a variety of factors, including cavities, gum disease, or an injury to the tooth. If you're experiencing severe pain, swelling, or a fever, it may be a sign of an infection and requires immediate attention from a dentist.
